Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, Faf du Plessis has made headlines after getting selected in the Big Bash League overseas draft for the upcoming season. This will be the first-ever draft process from the league which has wanted exposure across the globe. The move is expected to add some big names with attractive salary caps as well.

Meanwhile, the players who will put their names into the draft will be divided into four categories as well – platinum, gold, silver and bronze depending on the number of games that they will have to play in the season. And, Faf du Plessis is likely to be in the platinum category with the highest salary cap for the players as well. Moreover, the Big Bash League has tried to make the matches more exciting with innovations in its rules as well but has always faced an issue with big names not becoming a regular part of the league as well. The draft system is likely to change that mindset and make the league become global too.
