The young Indian opener, Shubman Gill missed a well-deserved century in the 3rd and the final ODI against West Indies on Wednesday, due to rain. The right-hander was just a couple of runs short of his maiden international ton when it started pouring down. Unfortunately, the Indian batting could not resume and Gill missed on what could have been a brilliant century.
Meanwhile, RCB had already posted a congratulatory message for Shubman Gill on Twitter, anticipating his maiden international century. The IPL franchise was hence trolled for their ahead-of-time post. Team India’s white-ball tour to West Indies commenced with a memorable ODI series win against the hosts.

Under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan, Team India completely dominated the 3-match ODI series against the Windies as they managed to whitewash the hosts. After winning the first couple of matches, which were close encounters, the Indian team also won the 3rd ODI by a huge margin of 119 runs although the match was affected due to rain.
Shubman Gill was named the Player of the match as well as the series. Gill put up a show with his bat in the 3rd ODI and was well set for his first-ever ODI century. However, it started pouring untimely and dashed hopes.

It happened when Shubman Gill was batting at the score of 98*, the rain came in and India couldn’t bat any longer. Anticipating Shubman’s century RCB had already posted a congratulatory message for him on Twitter, however, Gill was stranded at the score of 98* and RCB was trolled for their early tweet.

Shubman Gill looked to be in great touch throughout the series and he scored runs consistently in all three ODIs. However, it was in the 3rd ODI that he came very close to scoring his first century in ODIs. Though he could not get to his maiden 100, he was named the Player of the match as well as the Series. The right-hander scored a total of 205 runs in the three matches.
