Fresh off their historic IPL 2025 title win, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) touched down in the Garden City on Wednesday to a hero’s welcome. Jubilant fans lined the streets, waving flags and chanting as the players made their way to meet Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Vidhana Soudha.

RCB, who ended an 18-year wait for the elusive Indian Premier League trophy, scripted a dramatic six-run victory over Punjab Kings in Tuesday’s final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this win, Virat Kohli finally lifted his maiden IPL crown, and young skipper Rajat Patidar earned widespread praise for his calm leadership throughout the season.

Initially, an open-top bus parade was planned to celebrate the win, set to begin from Vidhana Soudha and end at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, owing to severe traffic congestion and logistical challenges, including last night’s chaotic crowd scenes and ongoing rainy weather in the city, the Bengaluru Traffic Police announced that the parade may be cancelled.

While fans had been eagerly anticipating the spectacle, authorities stressed that public safety remains the priority. The open bus has been kept on standby near the CM’s office, and if special permission is granted, there’s still a slim chance the parade might proceed later in the day.

Regardless of the parade’s fate, the team will head to Chinnaswamy Stadium for a special felicitation event scheduled between 5 PM and 6 PM. Entry to the stadium is limited to valid pass holders, and fans have been urged to use public transport due to restricted parking.

The celebrations may be scaled down logistically, but emotionally, the city is buzzing. Bengaluru finally has its IPL trophy, and the streets reflect the pride and passion of a fanbase that never gave up hope.
