The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have stepped up with a heartfelt response to the devastating Bengaluru stampede in June, unveiling a six-point manifesto under their social initiative, RCB Cares. The franchise aims to provide meaningful, long-term support to families impacted by the tragedy, which claimed 11 lives and injured many others during RCBโs IPL 2025 title celebrations.

Earlier, RCB had extended โน25 lakh in financial assistance to each bereaved family, but this manifesto signals a deeper commitment to honouring their fans and creating lasting change. The six-point plan includes initiatives such as fast and transparent aid delivery, improved crowd management in collaboration with stadium authorities, and the creation of safe and inclusive environments for supporters.
In a bid to turn tragedy into a movement, RCB will also invest in independent research on crowd safety, launch a fan-safety audit framework, and train on-ground staff annually in emergency protocols. Social development initiatives have already begun, focusing on rural Karnataka and marginalised communities like the Siddis.

The tragedy struck on June 4, 2025, just a day after RCB lifted their maiden IPL title, defeating Punjab Kings and ending an 18-year wait. Despite authorities denying permission for an open-top bus parade from Vidhana Soudha to M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, over two lakh fans gathered outside the venue following RCBโs social media announcement.

With stadium entry limited to pass holders, thousands waited outside, where a temporary slab over a drain collapsed under crowd pressure, triggering chaos and a deadly stampede. RCBโs six-point manifesto is more than a corporate gestureโitโs a call to action for safer celebrations, improved fan experiences, and genuine engagement with the 12th Man Army that has stood by the team through years of heartbreak and triumph.
