Team India is currently locking horns with the Windies for the crucial third ODI of the ongoing five-match series in Pune. After winning the toss, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli decided to bowl first and they Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. Team India is currently leading the series by 1-0. Meanwhile, the visitors wearing the black armbands has left everyone wondering over the reason for the same.

Currently, Black History Month is being observed in the West Indies and Africa to recognize the contribution of the black soldiers during the First and Second World wars. The countries in the Caribbean and Africa were affected during the war and they were ahead in sending the manpower, money, and material to aid the war effort.

However, it has also been said that the black soldiers were never able to fight as equals alongside the white soldiers and were often restricted to labor effort. The Windies players have also shown their support to the soldiers and hence are wearing the black armbands during the Pune ODI. Another reason for wearing those bands is that the players are supporting their team-mate Sunil Ambris, who lost his father a few days ago. Ambris is still here in India with the squad.

As far as the action in the middle is concerned, the Indian team is in complete control of the match as they have reduced the visitors at 218/7 at the end of 42 overs. After opting to field first, Jasprit Bumrah has scalped a couple of crucial wickets and has sent back the openers in the hut within the first 10 overs.

The hosts, on the other hand, will be looking to restrict the opposition to a below-par total and then chased down the total easily with the dew likely to play a role in the evening. It will be interesting to see the score Windies put up on the board as the Men in Blue are the clear favorites to extend their lead at the moment.
