Reason why players of KKR were wearing a black arm band made public

In today’s match between Rising Pune Supergiant and Kolkata Knight Riders, Knight Riders’ were spotted wearing an armband. The reason for which was revealed by their batsman, Manish Pandey, as he was on the mic during his stint on the field.

A Naxalite attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, has killed 25 of India’s CRPF jawans. The black armbands were worn as a mark of respect for those jawans.

In 97 IPL matches, Manish Pandey has scored 2079 runs at an average of 28.47 and a strike rate of 120.87. He was the first Indian to score a century in the IPL during the second edition of the league in South Africa.
