Manoj Tiwary suffered a personal tragedy before Rising Pune Supergiant’s third match of the season. Tiwary’s father, Shyam Shankar Tiwary, passed away today morning due to a cadiac arrest. Resultant of which, the Supergiant’s squad was wearing a black arm band.

Tiwary, 31, had to rush home to stay with his family and perform the last rites of his father. Tiwary scored an unbeaten 40 off 23 balls in Pune’s last match against Kings XI Punjab. Ajinkya Rahane revealed the reason for Tiwary’s absence from the squad.

In 79 IPL matches, Tiwary has scored 1,364 runs at an average of 29.65 and a strike rate of 114.42. Maharashtra’s Rahul Tripathi was included in the playing eleven as a replacement.
