Cricket Australia has experienced an unprecedented surge in ticket demand for the Border-Gavaskar Tests, witnessing a remarkable 67% increase compared to the previous highest for an India Test series in 2018-19. This surge in interest highlights the excitement surrounding the upcoming Australia cricket summer and the highly anticipated five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

As anticipated, the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) emerged as the most sought-after event, drawing cricket enthusiasts from all corners. The Sydney New Year’s Test also saw strong ticket sales, bolstered by the iconic McGrath Day activities, which have become a significant part of the annual charitable event.

The enthusiasm for these matches underscores the fans’ eagerness to witness high-quality cricket and be part of these celebrated occasions. Brisbane’s Gabba also witnessed a significant uptick in interest, with many fans excited to revisit the venue where India famously secured a historic victory in the 2020-21 series.

In a bid to enhance the fan experience, Cricket Australia announced the establishment of dedicated fan zones for Indian cricket fans for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This initiative is part of Cricket Australia’s Multicultural Action Plan, aimed at fostering inclusivity and providing exceptional experiences for fans from diverse backgrounds.

These dedicated seating areas will be available across all five venues, including the iconic MCG and Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The Test series is set to commence on November 22 in Perth, followed by a Day-Night Test in Adelaide on December 6.

The series will continue with matches at the Gabba on December 14, the celebrated Boxing Day Test at the MCG, and conclude with the Pink Test at the SCG in January. This lineup of matches promises a thrilling summer of cricket for fans worldwide.
