Richard Kettleborough, ICC elite panel umpire, has pulled out his name from third day’s play of ongoing India-Sri Lanka series after suffering a throat infection on Saturday.
Kettleborough has been replaced by West Indian umpire Joel Wilson, who, earlier, was giving his duties as the third umpire. Now, he will stand in the field with Nigel Long as the on field umpire.
An official person of Cricket Association of Bengal cleared his absence and said “Wilson is down with a throat infection and has been replaced by third umpire Wilson of the West Indies Cricket Board.”
Meanwhile, the fourth umpire Anil Chaudhary has been put into the duties of Wilson as the TV umpire, while CAB’s Binod Thakur was inducted on board.
In this match, host India has dismissed on 172 by Lankan bowlers where Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored with 52. Wriddhiman Saha, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami also contributed well with handy 20’s. Sri Lankan innings is underway and thus far, they have lost two wickets to Bhuvi and managed 56 runs on the board.
