The Delhi Capitals (DC) head coach Ricky Ponting said they will find out more about all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin’s injury soon. Ashwin was looking in a sublime form during the match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), as he had scalped a couple of wickets in his first over. However, off the last ball of the over, he dived to save a single and ended up injuring his shoulder. Soon after that, Ashwin went off the field with team physio Patrick Farhart. DC defeated KXIP in the Super Over.
Tweeting about Ashwin’s injury, Ricky Ponting wrote: “Still buzzing the morning after! Thrilled with the way we fought back after our start, @MStoinis with both bat and ball and @KagisoRabada25 with a quality super over. We’ll find out more about @ashwinravi99’s injury soon and hopefully, he’s ok to play against the Super Kings.”

During the post-match ceremony, Iyer said, “It’s only up to the physio right now. When I spoke to him at the end of the game, he was like ‘I will be ready for the next game. But at the end of the day, it’s the physio’s decision. He is a strong-minded guy, we hope he is available for the next game.”
