Every year the Indian Premier League (IPL) emerges as one of the biggest spectacles of cricket that witnesses some of the giants of the game square off against each other for almost a couple of months in front of packed stadiums. When the IPL started back in 2008, it featured plenty of names who were massive stalwarts of the game.
From Sachin Tendulkar, and Lasith Malinga to Glenn McGrath and Ricky Ponting, the initial seasons of the cash-rich league saw some giants of the game take the field together and against each other. 16 years fast-forward cricketers like Malinga and Ponting are still involved in the game but their roles have changed completely.

While Ponting is the head coach of Delhi Capitals, Malinga is the fast-bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR). Now that roles have reversed, it becomes intriguing when the superstars of yesteryears meet the modern-day stalwarts of the game who are setting the stage alight in the IPL.
Recently, Ponting met former RCB skipper Virat Kohli on the sidelines of the IPL and quite interestingly Ponting had his son Fletcher William Ponting alongside him, who seemed captivated by meeting the Indian star.

The video of their meeting was shared by Delhi Capitals on their social media platforms where Ponting’s son was seen clearly in awe of Kohli and quite shy about meeting him. Capitals captioned the video as, “Jab Ricky Met Kohli, Extended Cameo: Ricky Jr.”

Meanwhile, both RCB and Delhi are not enjoying their best of times in the ongoing edition of the tournament. While RCB has won one and lost two games whereas Delhi has lost all of the four games that they have played thus far. Delhi seems to be missing their star Rishabh Pant as the David Warner-led side is clearly struggling to get going at the moment.
