In a stunning display of grit and determination, Punjab Kings pulled off one of the most memorable wins of IPL 2025 by defending a meagre 111-run total against the mighty Kolkata Knight Riders on April 15. In a low-scoring thriller at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium, it was Yuzvendra Chahal who stole the show with a magical spell of 4/28, turning the game on its head and securing a 16-run win for PBKS.

Despite struggling with the bat, Punjab’s bowlers stepped up, with Chahal leading the charge and scripting a sensational victory against the defending champions.

Following the game, Punjab Kings’ head coach Ricky Ponting made a remarkable revelation. He disclosed that Chahal had entered the game carrying a shoulder injury sustained during the previous clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Speaking about the conversation before the match, Ponting shared, “I looked him in the eye and asked, ‘Mate, are you okay?’ He said, ‘Coach, I’m 100 percent right, let me out there.’ And look what he delivered.”
