Rinku Singh’s unforgettable five-sixes blitz in IPL 2023 not only changed his cricketing career but also became a turning point in his personal life. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star famously smashed five consecutive sixes off Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Yash Dayal, pulling off a sensational heist when KKR needed 28 runs off the last five balls. The innings instantly etched Rinku’s name in IPL folklore and, as he recently revealed, helped strengthen his bond with his now-fiancée, Priya Saroj.

Speaking on Raj Shamani’s YouTube channel, Rinku shared that Priya, who is now a Member of Parliament, was emotional after his heroics.

“She (Priya) was crying on the phone. Saachi didi (Nitish Rana’s wife) told me she was emotional. It was a big day. People had started to know me after those five sixes, and I felt things might become easier, like marriage talks. Back then, her father didn’t know who Rinku Singh was. He wasn’t into cricket, so he had no idea,” Rinku Singh recalled.

The southpaw admitted that his life changed overnight after the knock, with recognition and fame pouring in from all corners. “That moment was life-changing. All the hard work I had put in paid off in that match. My followers started increasing, recognition came, and from there everything changed. Name, fame, everything was given by the One above that day,” he said.
