The star India batter, Rinku Singh, has recently engaged in some light-hearted banter with the newly appointed T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav. In the Instagram story, playfully, Suryakumar Yadav asked for a bat. Notably, this is the second time Rinku has requested a bat; the first was from star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli during IPL 2024.
Suryakumar Yadav posted a picture with Rinku after landing in Sri Lanka and captioned it as, “Theek hai, bat le lena” (Okay, take the bat). Rinku responded wittily and said, “De do bhaiya bat” (Give me the bat, brother).

When asked recently in an interview if he did get the bat from Suryakumar, Rinku said that he hadn’t got it as of now but is using one which was given by Kohli. “Virat bhai ka bat chal raha hai abhi toh,” he said in a video shared by Sports Fact Real on their YouTube channel.
Rinku made a comeback to the Indian team for the Zimbabwe tour after missing out on a spot in the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup. The 26-year-old scored 60 runs from four innings, with his best score being an impressive 48* off 22 balls in the second T20I. Rinku would be looking to continue his good form with the bat in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the selection committee has confirmed Suryakumar Yadav as the new captain of the Indian T20I team for the tour to Sri Lanka. The 33-year-old was picked ahead of an overwhelming favorite in Hardik Pandya to succeed Rohit Sharma in the shortest format. Suryakumar has already led India in seven matches, out of which he won five. He made his captaincy debut against Australia in a five-match T20I series in November, and led the team to victory with a 4-1 win. He also drew a three-match series with South Africa, ending 1-1.
