Rinku Singh, one of India’s brightest middle-order batters and a key player for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has recently opened up about his personal life, sharing the story of his relationship with his fiancée, lawyer and politician Priya Saroj. The couple’s love story dates back to 2022, and Rinku revealed how it all began with a simple Instagram interaction that turned into something much deeper.
Speaking to News24, Rinku Singh said that during the IPL season in Mumbai, he came across Priya’s photo on a fan page.
“There was a post about some voting in her village. I saw her photo and instantly felt she was perfect for me. Initially, I was hesitant to text her, but when she liked a couple of my photos, I took the chance and messaged her,” he recalled. What started as casual exchanges soon grew into regular conversations.

Within weeks, the two were talking daily, even before Rinku’s matches, and he admitted that by then, he knew it was love. The couple got engaged in June 2025. Their wedding was originally planned for November, but the ceremony has been postponed because of Rinku’s packed cricketing schedule, with the Indian domestic season and upcoming international commitments taking priority.

Rinku also spoke about Priya’s political journey, expressing pride in her achievements. She became a Member of Parliament last year and has been actively involved in social work.
However, Rinku Singh admitted that her growing responsibilities have slightly reduced the time they get to spend together. “Earlier, we used to talk a lot, but now her schedule is very tight. She travels to villages, meets people, and spends long hours working for the community. We mostly get time to talk only at night,” he said, adding that he admires her dedication to her role as a politician.

While balancing cricket and personal life can be demanding, Rinku seems to be managing both with maturity. He is currently focused on India’s Asia Cup 2025 campaign, which begins in September, and fans will be eager to see him continue his fine form on the international stage.
