Lucknow Super Giants pace bowler Mayank Yadav backed his side’s captain Rishabh Pant amidst his struggles in IPL 2025, saying that Pant never looks under pressure. However, Pant has been going through a difficult season with the bat, which has led to criticism from both fans and experts, especially after becoming the most expensive player in the league as well.

While LSG now find themselves in a struggling position for a potential playoff spot, Pant’s inability to score has become one of the key concerns as well.

However, speaking at a pre-match press conference, Mayank Yadav said, “I have known Rishabh bhaiya for a while now because we play for the same club in Delhi. Whenever I have spoken to him, I have not felt that he is under pressure. He is confidently talking to me about the game, about the situation, [and] about the opposition batsmen.”

“We have been a little late in assessing the grounds and the wickets. We have made mistakes there; I’ll accept that. But we have three matches, and if we win that, there might be a chance we can make the playoffs,” he again added.

Pant’s numbers with the bat are not great so far. He has scored only 128 runs in 11 matches this season as well. His most recent match saw him dismissed for 18 off 17 balls. It also marked just the fourth time in 11 matches that he managed to cross the 10-run mark, and once again, he failed to convert the start into a big knock.

However, Rishabh Pant’s form with the bat will be important for his team as well.
