Rishabh Pant Lashes Out At Lalit Yadav, Off-spinner Responds With A Wicket

Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has already been in the news – be it for his captaincy or his chatter from behind the stumps. However, Delhi started the journey with a stunning win over Chennai Super Kings but then they lost to Rajasthan Royals in the next game. Meanwhile, they returned well in the next game against Punjab Kings as well.

However, Rishabh Pant’s team chased down the massive total of 196 runs with the help of Shikhar Dhawan’s match-winning 92 as well. Meanwhile, Delhi has played against the defending champions Mumbai Indians in their last encounter in Chennai. Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bat first.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians has not lost to Delhi Capitals in their last 4 matches as they won all of them in the last edition of the IPL in the United Arab Emirates as well. While the defending champions got off to a great strat, they lost wickets on a regular basis soon after as the game progressed. Amit Mishra picked up 4 wickets.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma top-scored with 44 off 30 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes as well. Suryakumar Yadav smashed 24 off 15 balls including 4 boundaries too. Jayant Yadav has hit 23 off 22 balls including 1 boundary.

However, Mumbai Indians managed to put up a below-par total of 137 for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. During the Mumbai Indians’ innings, Lalit Yadav impressed everyone with his stunning bowling. However, during the 8th over, Rishabh Pant was heard screaming at Lalit Yadav as he said: “Body vody khol le apni.” (Rough translation: Pant asks Lalit to open up his body and arms to bowl). And, the off-spinner returned to the game by taking the wicket of Krunal Pandya as well.

And, Delhi eventually won the game by 6 wickets. After the win, Rishabh Pant said: “When we started we were little under pressure. Mishy bhai got us into the game. Bowlers did a great job to restrict them to 136. We like to take it into the ground, take one match at a time. He’s a great Indian player we’re trying to groom (Lalit Yadav). Can do wonders on pitches like these. What we’ve learnt is if you keep wickets in hand you can chase any target.”
