Indian cricketers, including Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant, are rigorously working at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to regain their fitness and make a strong comeback to international cricket. While Bumrah and Krishna are set to prove their fitness during the upcoming tour of Ireland, KL Rahul is expected to be available for selection in the Asia Cup 2023.

One of the most remarkable recoveries at the NCA has been by Rishabh Pant, who survived a car accident in December last year. Recent reports suggest that the wicketkeeper-batter has been making impressive strides in his recovery. He has started facing faster deliveries in the nets, and his keeping skills are also improving. The focus now is on achieving larger and quicker body movements in the coming months.

The BCCI has provided updates on the rehabilitation progress of the players, confirming Pant’s significant progress. He has resumed batting and keeping in the nets while following a customized fitness program encompassing strength, flexibility, and running.

Another player undergoing recovery at the NCA is Shreyas Iyer. The batter has resumed batting in the nets and is engaged in strength and fitness drills. The BCCI Medical Team is satisfied with the progress of both Pant and Iyer, planning to intensify their training further.

However, according to the Times of India, Shreyas Iyer might miss the Asia Cup due to lingering back problems, despite having undergone surgery. An official statement from the BCCI regarding his condition is still awaited.
