In a positive turn of events for Indian cricket enthusiasts, wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant marked a significant milestone on his road to recovery by playing his first complete game since the near-fatal car accident he endured in 2022. The spirited cricketer participated in a warm-up match in Alur near Bengaluru, showcasing his determination to return to full form. Pant, expected to lead the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, demonstrated considerable progress in his rehabilitation.
Despite this encouraging development, it has been reported by Cricbuzz that Pant will be playing as a specialist batsman, foregoing the wicketkeeping duties, as his complete rehabilitation might not be finalized in time for the IPL. The decision reflects a cautious approach to ensure Pant’s well-being and readiness for the tournament.
