India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has added another milestone to his remarkable career by reportedly becoming the highest individual taxpayer from Uttarakhand for the financial year 2025-26. According to reports, Pant paid a staggering ₹23.84 crore in taxes, placing him fourth among the highest non-corporate taxpayers in the state. The achievement underlines not only his success on the cricket field but also his growing stature as one of India’s highest-earning sportspersons.

A major contributor to Pant’s earnings during the assessment period was his ₹27 crore IPL contract with Lucknow Super Giants. The franchise had secured his services for a record fee during the IPL 2025 mega auction, making him one of the most expensive players in the tournament’s history. Although Pant represented LSG for two seasons, the franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs in both IPL 2025 and IPL 2026.

Ahead of IPL 2027, Rishabh Pant made a high-profile return to Delhi Capitals after being traded by Lucknow Super Giants. As part of the deal, Delhi Capitals sent left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav to LSG, while Pant accepted a reduced salary of ₹15 crore, down from his previous ₹27 crore contract.

Beyond the IPL, Rishabh Pant also earned a substantial income through his BCCI central contract. During the 2025-26 financial year, he was part of the Grade A category, which carried an annual retainer of ₹7 crore. Although he has since been moved to Grade B, valued at ₹3 crore annually, the Grade A contract contributed significantly to his earnings during the tax period.

Rishabh Pant also received match fees from both domestic and international cricket. He earned ₹8 lakh per IPL appearance, taking his IPL match-fee earnings to approximately ₹1.1 crore for the season. At the international level, he received ₹15 lakh per Test and ₹8 lakh per ODI under the BCCI’s match-fee structure.

Off the field, Pant remains one of the most marketable faces in Indian cricket. Reports suggest he charges around ₹2.5 crore for a single-day commercial shoot and between ₹4.5 crore and ₹4.75 crore for a two-day advertising commitment. His annual endorsement income is estimated to be between ₹28 crore and ₹35 crore through partnerships with leading brands, including Adidas, Dream11, SG, Thums Up, Cadbury, boAt, Noise, Zomato, JSW Cement, and MakeMyTrip.

Rishabh Pant is now preparing for India’s upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins in Galle on August 15. The 28-year-old has already established himself as one of India’s premier wicketkeeper-batters, scoring 3,557 runs in 50 Tests at an average of 43.37, including eight centuries and 19 half-centuries. He has also accumulated 871 runs in 31 ODIs, 1,209 runs in 76 T20Is, and 3,865 runs in 139 IPL matches, further cementing his reputation as one of the most impactful players of his generation.
