The buzz at SW19 is reaching fever pitch as Wimbledon 2025 moves into its decisive phase — and among the crowd soaking it all in was none other than India’s Test vice-captain, Rishabh Pant. Fresh off a spirited performance at Edgbaston, Pant made his way to the All England Club on Monday after the Indian team shifted base from Birmingham to London ahead of the all-important third Test at Lord’s.

Pant, who’s known to be an avid tennis follower, shared his prediction for the men’s singles title. Without hesitation, he backed Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz to lift the trophy, though he admitted that Novak Djokovic remains the biggest threat to that dream.

“I think I have to support Alcaraz. He’s my pick to win Wimbledon,” Rishabh Pant told Star Sports. “Of course, whoever plays the best tennis will win in the end. But if someone can challenge him, it has to be Djokovic.”

As it turned out, Alcaraz edged past Britain’s Cameron Norrie in a tense quarter-final and now faces American Taylor Fritz for a place in the final.

While Pant took in his first Wimbledon experience with delight, his form on the cricket field has been no less electric. The explosive southpaw has tormented England’s bowlers in the first two Tests, notching up two centuries at Leeds and a gritty 65 at Edgbaston. His presence will be crucial again as India face England in the third Test at Lord’s starting Thursday, with the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy tied at 1-1.
By all accounts, Pant’s first brush with Wimbledon left him thoroughly entertained — and it’s safe to say, he’s also made a few fans off the pitch.
