Rishabh Pant is set to make his highly anticipated return to international cricket after recovering from a painful toe injury that cut short his England tour earlier this year. The wicketkeeper-batter had been in sensational form during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, smashing twin centuries in one of the Tests before sustaining the injury in Manchester.

Despite battling through immense discomfort, Pant displayed immense courage, returning to bat in India’s first innings during the fourth Test at Old Trafford, where his gritty half-century helped India secure a crucial draw.

Now, months later, Pant is back on the field with renewed energy and gratitude. Reflecting on his comeback journey, the 28-year-old said he feels “a lot of gratitude for life” after enduring another testing phase in his career. “After an injury, it is never easy to come back. But God has been kind to me always, and I feel blessed to be back,” Pant shared in a BCCI video.

Rishabh Pant credited his recovery to the unwavering support of his family and fans, adding, “Every time I step onto the field, I try to be grateful. I always look up and thank God, my parents, and my family — they’ve been there for me through every challenge.”

Pant’s resilience has been well documented. Following his life-threatening car accident in December 2022, many doubted if he would ever play again. Yet, through sheer determination, he not only led Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024 but also returned to the national fold, playing a pivotal role in India’s T20 World Cup triumph later that year.

Speaking about his mindset, Rishabh Pant said, “I try to focus only on controllables. Luck is something you can’t control, so I don’t waste time thinking about it. If your mind stays steady and you focus on what truly matters, happiness follows.”

He further added that his recovery taught him the importance of staying grounded and enjoying every moment. “Work hard, be disciplined, and stay in a zone where you’re open to learning while still finding joy in what you do. Whatever happens, give your 100 percent and cherish the process.”

Pant’s return adds balance and spark to India’s lineup ahead of the upcoming season, marking yet another inspiring chapter in his remarkable journey.
