Star India player Rishabh Pant said that the Delhi Premier League could be a big opportunity for all the local players to get recognition. The Purani Dilli 6 batter Pant was also excited to be in the DPL 2024 and he wanted the players to learn, grow and make a mark to be in the IPL. He also received a grand welcome as he joined the Dilli 6 team for their first game against South Delhi Strikerz on August 17, Saturday.
“I think I am really excited because I feel on ground level this is a very big opportunity for players who don’t get that recognition in IPL. I think when people see you playing in these kind of leagues, I think they can pick you from there. It’s a big boost for each and every player and hopefully they will learn from the people around them and hopefully they do well and have lots of fun,” Rishabh Pant said in a video released by the social media handle of the DPL franchise.
Rishabh Pant, along with Ishant Sharma, will aim to do well in the inaugural edition of the league with their performances. The opening match is slated to take place at 8:30 pm on Saturday. The following matches will take place on 2 pm and 7 pm each day.
“We are thrilled to kick off the DPL with such an exciting lineup. Having Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant on our side brings tremendous experience and skill, which has inspired and motivated our younger players. We are confident that Purani Dilli 6 will make a strong impact in the league,” Purani Dilli 6 owner Akash Nangia said.
