In the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Pant started his innings aggressively, showcasing his intent.

Unfortunately, he fell short of converting his promising start into a significant score, getting dismissed for 39 runs off 52 balls by Hasan Mahmud in the first innings. However, this initial setback only bolstered his confidence for the second innings, where he truly shone.

Despite a few early wickets, Pant’s explosive batting provided a much-needed boost for the Indian side. A pivotal moment came when Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto dropped a straightforward catch off Shakib Al Hasan, a decision that would haunt the visitors as Pant went on to make the most of his reprieve.
