Rishabh Pant, India’s dynamic wicketkeeper-batter, recently took to social media to refute false claims circulating about him. An X user alleged that Pant’s management had inquired about the possibility of him taking over the captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the next IPL season, but Pant supposedly declined. The post also took a jab at senior cricketer Virat Kohli, suggesting a hidden political agenda behind the move.
Pant, clearly frustrated by the baseless rumours, responded with a strong message, urging people to be more responsible while sharing such information. He highlighted the growing problem of misinformation on social media and called on users to verify facts before spreading unsubstantiated news.

There were also rumors about Pant potentially joining Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as a replacement for MS Dhoni, who recently handed over the captaincy reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, as per recent reports, Pant is set to remain with Delhi Capitals as their first choice for retention ahead of IPL 2025, continuing his role as the team’s captain.
