After winning, the toss, the Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam asked the arch-rivals to bat first and his bowlers, especially, Shaheen Afridi didn’t disappoint as South Africa was two down in the first three overs itself. However, then Rishabh Pant came out in the middle to get the team on track along with the skipper, Virat Kohli as they started building a partnership. On the second ball of the 12th over, Pant pulled off a special shot as he was looking to go over midwicket, and Hasan fired a length ball into his body, to cramp the batter for the room. However, Rishabh went down on his back knee, and smashed the ball with his bottom hand, and extended his front arm fully, and whips it over the square leg boundary.

On the very next delivery, Rishabh Pant gave a testimony of his dominance. It was a full slower ball from Ali and it was angling across to off stump, and Pant uses the extra leverage he gets to meet the ball well in front of his body and lift it with a straight bat over the long-off boundary. Mid-off was in, and Pant managed to clear the boundary by a narrow margin.
