The moment came on the first ball of the 40th over in India’s second innings. Pant, known for his fearless batting, danced down the track to take on Mehidy Hasan. Though he didn’t quite reach the pitch of the delivery, Pant still managed to connect, sending the ball sailing over the long-off fielder for a stunning six. His effortless execution of the shot showcased his raw power and instinctive play, leaving spectators and commentators buzzing.

In the first innings, Pant had missed out on a half-century, but he made amends in the second innings by reaching the milestone. This fifty was particularly special as it marked his first in Test cricket since returning from a near-fatal car accident in 2022.
