During the recently concluded Melbourne Test, Indian young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and the Australian skipper & wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Paine had some on-field banter where Paine asked Pant to be a babysitter. Recently, Pant took that challenge.

During the Melbourne Test, when Pant was batting in the second innings, Paine had banter with him where he called Pant a babysitter and invited him for a dinner.

Paine said, “I tell you what, big MS (Dhoni) is back in the One-Day squad, we might get (Pant) down to the Hurricanes, this bloke. We need a batter. Fancy that, surely, extend your little Aussie holiday, beautiful town, Hobart, too. Get you a nice apartment on the waterfront. Have you over for dinner you Babysit? I’ll take the wife to the movies one night and you’ll look after the kids?”

Later, on day four, Pant trolled back Paine on his temporary captaincy role. When Paine came to bat, the young wicketkeeper Pant decided to continue the banter.

Pant quoted, “We’ve got a special guest today…..have you heard of a temporary captain ever? You don’t need anything to get him out boys. He loves to talk, that’s the only thing he can do, only talking talking.”

Though Paine remained cool, the on-field umpire Ian Gould warned Pant for his comments as the umpire felt that it was not a cool thing.

However, the off-field relation between the two players is very friendly. On Tuesday (1 January 2019), the ICC official Twitter account posted a picture of Pant with Paine’s two children and Paine’s wife Mrs Bonnie Paine.

ICC posted it as, “Tim Paine to @RishabPant777 at Boxing Day Test: “You babysit? I’ll take the wife to the movies one night, you’ll look after the kids?” *Challenge accepted!* (Mrs Bonnie Paine)”.

On the New Year morning, the Indian cricket team and Australian cricket team had a fine time together with the Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison at the Kirribilli House in Sydney – his official residence.
