Rishabh Pant Urges People To Support Delhi Police

The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has affected the world severely. It has brought the world to a standstill with many countries being completely lockdown for safety and to contain the spread of the virus. Many major sporting events have either been postponed or canceled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic affecting the globe. Cricket has also suffered a similar fate with all international and domestic matches canceled. Amid the Corona Crisis, may cricketers are using their popularity and mass reach to spread the message of awareness amongst people. On Monday, India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant urged fellow citizens to people to support Delhi Police and abide by the guidelines of the central government.

The young wicketkeeper used cricket as an example of the same. Pant said that just like dropping a catch or stumping chance can change the whole game, One small mistake by us will affect the fight against Coronavirus.

“Let’s support Delhi Police and adhere to the guidelines of Government of India. Stay at home, step outside only for essential items and follow social distancing. We can win this fight only if we are in this together,” Pant said in a video posted by Delhi Police on Twitter.

The Delhite wicket-keeper has been a regular feature in the Indian team setup for quite a while. He is competing with Karnataka opener KL Rahul to be India’s man behind the stumps.

Right now, Rishabh Pant is enjoying some time away from the game with the Indian Premier League postponed indefinitely.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India took the decision due to the coronavirus crisis in the country.

On Monday, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India crossed 18,658. The same virus has killed more than 590 people in India. Originated in China, the pandemic spread of the COVID-19 Virus has now affected more than 2,482,512 people taking 170,477 lives.
