The announcement of Pant’s participation in the upcoming IPL season, both as a wicketkeeper and a batter, has brought a wave of optimism among cricket enthusiasts. Speculations were rife regarding Pant’s role and his ability to cope with the demands of the game after his recovery.

With the T20 World Cup slated for June 2024, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah provided an encouraging update on Pant’s potential inclusion in the Indian squad.

“He is batting well, he is keeping well. We will declare him fit very soon. If he can play in the T20 World Cup for us, that will be a big thing for us. He is a big asset for us. If he can keep, he can play in the World Cup. Let’s see how he does in the IPL,” Jay Shah stated, as reported by news agency PTI.

Reflecting on his challenging period away from the game, Pant revealed his determination to stay positive and focused.

“I was sad because I was going through a very good time. But I had to ensure I didn’t pity myself. That’s how I was keeping myself sane. I don’t want to think that I am taking a fresh guard or I am making my debut all over again or I just had a break. I just want to feel how it is to be on the ground again. I need that feeling from within that I am just continuing with my career,” RIshabh Pant shared with The Times of India.
