Rishabh Pant recently expressed his regret over inadvertently hitting a cameraman named Debashsih during his electrifying knock against GT. The incident occurred when Pant smashed a powerful six, accidentally striking the cameraman. Upon learning of the mishap, Pant was visibly disheartened.  After the match, during a conversation with DC coach Ricky Ponting, Pant extended a heartfelt apology to Debashish.

In a video shared by the official IPL handle on social media, Pant conveyed his apologies, emphasizing that he had no intention of causing harm and expressing hope for Debashish’s swift recovery. “Sorry Debashish bhai, did not intend to hit you, but I think you can recover well, and good luck,” Rishabh Pant conveyed in the video.

The IPL’s official Instagram account also shared the incident, highlighting Pant’s compassionate gesture towards the cameraman. This gesture further endeared Pant to fans, especially after his stellar performance in the match, where he was named Player of the Match for his outstanding innings against GT.

Pant’s journey to this moment has been remarkable, marked by resilience and determination. After a tragic accident in December 2022 that sidelined him until March 2024, Pant made a triumphant return to the field during the IPL 2024.

Despite the challenges, he has exhibited glimpses of his exceptional talent, particularly in the last two matches, both of which resulted in victories for DC against GT. In the ongoing season, Pant has amassed 342 runs in nine matches at an impressive batting average of 48.85 and a striking rate of 161.32.

Rishabh Pant’s contribution has been invaluable to DC, with three half-centuries to his name. Currently, he stands as the third-highest run-scorer in the league, trailing only Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad. His standout performance against GT, where he scored 88 runs off 43 balls, showcased his ability to steer his team out of challenging situations, as they were reeling at 15/3 initially.
