The Indian cricket team is not leaving any stone unturned in preparations for the highly awaited Champions Trophy 2025. With all their games scheduled to be played in Dubai under the hybrid model, everyone expected the team to take it easy with their training schedule. But in a complete departure from expectations, Rohit Sharma and his boys started off on a high note with a high-intensity first practice session, catching everyone by surprise with their dedication and sense of urgency.

What added to their practice still more was the fact that they chose to practice during the hot day’s heat at the ICC Academy in Dubai, as opposed to when it would be cooler in the evening. This step indicates the team’s commitment to winning their third Champions Trophy title, as they prepare their team and combinations for their first match.
But India’s practice session did not go off without a hitch. Rishabh Pant had a harrowing injury scare when a hard hit from Hardik Pandya caught his left knee. The young wicketkeeper-batter was in pain instantly, and the fans were left worried, particularly with Pant’s injury record.

As the video of the incident went viral soon, speculation followed regarding the extent of the injury. In spite of the agonizing setback, Pant displayed his mettle by carrying on with his practice, dispelling concerns of a serious problem. Team physio Kamlesh Jain reportedly hurried to evaluate the injury, while Pandya, who was clearly worried, walked out of the nets to inquire about his teammate.

Thankfully, Rishabh Pant shrugged off the blow and was soon batting with aggression, establishing his fitness in time for the important tournament. While that was happening, the Men in Blue are preparing to play their opening match against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai International Stadium.

India will approach the Champions Trophy with great confidence, having lately dominated England 3-0 in an ODI series whitewash in their own country. A few players had individual match-winning performances in that series, giving greater impetus to their campaign.
As India settles its playing XI and strategy, there are doubts about the wicketkeeping job, with Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul in the team. With rivalry intensifying, the selectors and team management will have a very important choice to make as they pursue another ICC title.
