The veteran Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh has been playing the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since the inaugural edition of the tournament. The southpaw has turned out to be one of the hottest picks in the T20 extravaganza as the franchise owners have shelled out significant amounts for the veteran campaigner. However, with age, his abilities have witnessed a downhill and he isn’t the same performer he used to be even a couple of years ago.
In the last year’s IPL, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) picked up him and he failed to make his worth count. Subsequently, he was in and out of the team and was eventually released by the team. The left-handed batsman had a chance of taking the Kings’ to victory on a couple of occasions, but due to the age factor, he failed to take his team over the line even once.
Nevertheless, Yuvi decided to register himself in the 2019 IPL auctions, that took place in December last year in Jaipur. He had a base price of ₹1 crore and went unsold in the first round. Fortunately, the Mumbai Indians (MI), owned by Mukesh Ambani, picked up him at his base price, just when it was perceived that the 37-year-old won’t find any bidders in the second round as well.

Yuvraj is all set to play under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, who has led MI to three IPL titles in 2013, 2015 and 2017 respectively. Recently, the franchise also released Yuvraj’s jersey for the tournament with number ’12’ on the back. In the meantime, Mumbai posted a picture on their official Instagram handle where Singh was seen wearing Rohit’s 45-number jersey.

In the meantime, Ritika Sajdeh, to whom Rohit has been married since December 13, 2015, found it a weird that his brother (Yuvraj) wore Rohit’s jersey. Ritika replied to one of the posts and wrote, “My brother wearing my husbands’ jersey is all sorts of weird.”
