Riyan Parag has always worn his heart on his sleeve, and during the Rajasthan Royals’ high-octane IPL 2025 clash against Gujarat Titans, his fiery temperament was on full display. Known for his aggressive stroke play and expressive on-field persona, Parag found himself at the center of a contentious moment that left him fuming.

Chasing a mammoth 218-run target set by Gujarat, Parag looked in ominous touch. Having raced to 26 off just 14 balls, he seemed ready to turn the tide in RR’s favor. But his brisk innings came to an abrupt halt when Kulwant Khejroliya bowled a fuller delivery outside off. Parag threw his hands at it and appeared to nick the ball to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who claimed the catch cleanly. The on-field decision was sent upstairs for confirmation.

While replays confirmed Buttler had taken a clean catch, the real drama was around the UltraEdge spike. Parag argued that the spike was due to his bat hitting the ground, not the ball. The third umpire disagreed, adjudging him out. Clearly unhappy, Parag exchanged a few words with the umpire before reluctantly walking off, his frustration evident.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans posted a commanding 217, powered by a magnificent 82 from Sai Sudharsan. Buttler and Shahrukh Khan provided valuable support with aggressive cameos. Rajasthan’s response got off to a shaky start, losing four early wickets. However, skipper Sanju Samson has held firm, showing intent and resilience alongside Shimron Hetmyer as the Royals look to pull off an improbable chase.
