Former India all-rounder Robin Singh has brought his long and memorable association with Mumbai Indians to an official close. Singh, who first joined the franchise in 2010, was a key part of the MI setup for years and played an important role in their rise as one of the IPL’s most successful teams. While he had not been part of the Mumbai Indians’ IPL coaching staff since 2022, he continued to stay connected with the group through MI Emirates in the ILT20.

Taking to X, Singh shared a heartfelt message for the franchise and its supporters, thanking the MI family for their backing since 2010 and wishing the team success in the seasons ahead. His post marked the end of an association that stretched across more than a decade and included both coaching and mentoring responsibilities.

Singh served as the head coach of the Mumbai Indians for three seasons, from 2010 until the end of the 2012 campaign, before John Wright took over the role. During that period, he was part of the team’s early growth phase and helped shape the environment that later turned MI into a dominant IPL force.

Born in Trinidad, Singh represented India in one Test and 136 ODIs between 1989 and 2001. He scored 2,336 runs in ODI cricket and picked up 69 wickets with his medium pace. His only ODI century came against Sri Lanka in 1997, in a match that ended without a result because of rain. He also claimed two five-wicket hauls, including one against Sri Lanka in the 1999 ODI World Cup.

Over the years, he has held coaching roles in the Caribbean Premier League, Lanka Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League and Tamil Nadu Premier League. In 2020, he also served as Director of Cricket and head coach of the UAE national team.
