It was in the early 2000s when Sunil Gavaskar’s son Rohan donned Indian colors under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly. The Gavaskar son played 11 international games and scored one fifty against Zimbabwe. Since then, Gavaskar played for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and also tried his hand at commentary like his father.
On Sunday, Rohan posted a picture with Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag and wrote, “India’s greatest openers. Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Sehwag. Two at cricket. One at bottles.”

Post international stint with Team India, Gavaskar Jr. had briefly joined the rebel league ICL. Recently, the news broke that he would join South Africa’s T20 Global League as a media director of one of the teams, but with the league postponed for some time, there is still no clarity on his role.
