In a matter of a week, the Indian cricket team will be locking horns with South Africa. Over the last two seasons, Virat Kohli and his men they have extended their domination at home. And now, they would be eyeing domination in overseas conditions as well.
Rohit Sharma, one of the crucial cogs of Virat, recently spoke at length about what the Indian team expects from their opposition in the series. He feels that the South African team could field an extra all-rounder in the playing eleven. He also zeroed in Kagiso Rabada, Vernon Philander, and Dale Steyn as premier bowlers in world cricket. He hailed the South African bowling as one of the most challenging ones.
As quoted in Hindustan Times, Sharma said, “Their bowling attack is the most challenging [one] in the world right now. Any home team tends to put a lot of pressure on the touring side. It will be [Kagiso] Rabada, [Dale] Steyn, and one between [Vernon] Philander and [Morne] Morkel. They might play also an all-rounder like Chris Morris.”
Speaking further on the same note, Rohit shared that the comeback stars of the hosts would bag most of the limelight. He noted, “Steyn had a shoulder surgery, he is playing after almost a year… that is a long lay-off. (But) with his experience, do not think there will be a problem. Obviously, all eyes will be on him and de Villiers as they have not played much of late.”
