The moment in which India roared back to the winner’s circle of the T20 World Cup after a span of 17 years has been a huge moment of pride for all the inhabitants of the country. It was not only celebrated with a victory on the cricket field but in a spiritual way, too, when the team’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, and Secretary of BCCI Jay Shah recently took the coveted T20 World Cup 2024 trophy to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai.
The tour of victory underlined the emotional and cultural significance of the win, considering that the temple is such a revered spiritual hub for the celebrities and devotees who often come to seek blessings for their achievements. Photographs of Rohit Sharma and Jay Shah praying with the trophy went viral, capturing the moment that sort of showed just how seriously this country could latch on to both cricket and spirituality.

As it made them remember the memories of the tough battle that the team won to regain the World Cup, the pictures did churn a chord with the fans. As a mega festival, the entire nation celebrated the arrival of the team in India from Barbados. Victory in USA and West Indies revived the cricketing spirit of the nation, and the trophy tour is giving that added touch to victory.

As the euphoria of the T20 World Cup win gradually settles, Team India entered a brief rest period following their recent white-ball series against Sri Lanka. They managed to clinch the T20I series, but the final outcome was losing the ODI series.
The break will be very short-lived, as the team now prepares itself for the next challenge: the multi-match series against Bangladesh. The series will start on Sep 19 with tests and after that, 3 T20Is in the first week of October.
