Jasprit Bumrah struck early, dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Hazratullah Zazai, and it left Afghanistan under immense pressure. As wickets tumbled, Afghanistan found themselves in a precarious position.

After the powerplay, Gulbadin Naib and Azmatullah Omarzai attempted to stabilize the innings as they added 44 runs. Naib was eventually dismissed after scoring 17 runs off 21 balls. He attempted to clear the mid-wicket boundary but mistimed Kuldeep Yadav’s delivery, resulting in a catch by Rishabh Pant. The catch led to a light-hearted moment between Pant and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

As Rishabh Pant called for and completed the catch, Rohit Sharma, who was nearby, stepped aside, and the two shared a laugh and a hug, a moment that quickly went viral on social media. Following Naib’s dismissal, Afghanistan’s batting order collapsed. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational performance, ending the night with three wickets at an astonishing economy rate of 1.80.

Arshdeep Singh also contributed significantly, taking two wickets towards the end of the innings, bringing his tally to three for the match. India eventually secured a comfortable victory by 47 runs.
