Star Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with the rest of the Indian squad, arrived in Perth early Thursday after flight delays from Singapore disrupted their travel schedule. The Shubman Gill-led team had reached Delhi airport on October 15, but their connecting flight to Australia departed nearly four hours late, causing additional delays during the Singapore stopover.

The Indian team finally touched down in Perth around 4 am and headed directly to their hotel. Kohli, Rohit, Gill, and KL Rahul were among the first players to arrive, followed by Yashasvi Jaiswal, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, along with support staff.

Tight security at the airport restricted fan access, and those waiting outside the hotel were unable to take pictures as the tired players went straight to their rooms. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the coaching staff joined later in the day, having taken an evening flight from Delhi on Wednesday.

The ODI series begins in Perth on Sunday, October 19, before moving to Adelaide (October 23) and Sydney (October 25). Following the ODIs, a five-match T20I series will start on October 29.

These upcoming matches have attracted significant attention, as they will mark Rohit and Kohli’s first international appearance since India’s Champions Trophy win in March. With Shubman Gill now leading the ODI team, questions about the senior stars’ future in the 50-over format have become a key talking point.
