The young boy came, excited, with a memorable photograph of Kohli and captain Rohit holding the T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy with the national tricolor at their back. Kohli went up to the boy first and signed the cherished picture, posing for one himself.

Not one to be left behind, Rohit spent time with the young fan, posing for a photo. The tender moment was captured in a video that turned viral within minutes and earned a lot of praise and love from cricket fans on social media. India is all set to face the challenge of Sri Lanka in three ODIs at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2, 4, and 7.

When preliminary reports arrived that read Rohit and Kohli might miss the event, the fans were over the moon to see both the names flash on the 15-member contingent. This will be a big day, of course, as it will mark the first time the two batting icons take the field in an ODI since they were denied their crowning glory in the World Cup final by Australia last year.

The ODI series against Sri Lanka will also mark the international comeback of both Rohit and Kohli, who last featured in the T20 World Cup final on June 29. Right after their successful campaign, both retired from T20Is, and since then, created a record for seven wins out of eight T20I matches.
