The latest ICC Men’s ODI rankings post the 2025 Champions Trophy have seen contrasting movements for Indian captain Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli. Rohit has surged back into the top three with 756 rating points, trailing only his opening partner Shubman Gill and Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Notably, the gap between Rohit and Babar is just 14 points, mirroring the difference between the top two.

Meanwhile, Kohli has slipped one spot to fifth with 736 points, despite playing a crucial role in India’s victorious Champions Trophy campaign. Both he and Rohit, along with Gill, were instrumental in India’s success. Kohli amassed 218 runs in five matches at an average of 54.50, finishing as India’s second-highest scorer.
Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 101 in the tournament opener against Bangladesh set the tone for India’s campaign, while Rohit delivered under pressure in the final against New Zealand, scoring a match-winning 76 and claiming the Player of the Match award.

Shreyas Iyer, India’s top performer in the tournament, retained his eighth spot, while New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell and South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen climbed to sixth and 13th, respectively. The biggest gainer was Player of the Tournament Rachin Ravindra, whose 263 runs in four matches propelled him 14 places to 14th in the rankings.

Indian bowlers also shone in the updated rankings. Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav jumped three places to third after a stellar tournament, including key wickets of Ravindra and Kane Williamson in the final. New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner made a significant leap to second, while Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana remained the No. 1 bowler.

Ravindra Jadeja, India’s highest wicket-taker in Champions Trophy history, also climbed three places to 10th after taking a crucial wicket and hitting the winning runs in the final. Meanwhile, Rachin Ravindra and Michael Bracewell broke into the top 10 among all-rounders, with Santner moving up to fourth.
