Team India’s winning juggernaut in the One-Day International format is rolling further and further. Currently, they are looking unbeatable for any opposition. Although, they were thrashed in the fourth ODI game against New Zealand which was an aberration. Regular skipper Virat Kohli and veteran wicketkeeper MS Dhoni were not in the team and we saw the impact immediately. However, India has already won the series and will be eyeing to cap off the series with yet another convincing win at Wellington.

Rohit Sharma is yet to score a ton in this series despite two good starts

Rohit Sharma pulled his sleeves in Kohli’s absence and was seen leading the Indian team, but he failed with the bat on rather tough batting conditions. But nothing to take away from Kiwi fast-bowler Trent Bolt who was on song during Hamilton ODI and bowled a beautiful spell of 10-4-21-5 and helped New Zealand bundling India’s innings for 92.

Rohit’s bat is currently on a roll in the ODIs, where he has scored at least one century in the last ten ODI series that India has played. It all started during the Champions Trophy 2017 and since then he is scoring a century in every single ODI series he has been a part of.

But to everyone’s surprise, this series is yet to witness a century from stand-in Indian captain. Though he has two half-centuries but he couldn’t manage to convert it into a three-figure mark. Meanwhile, he has a final chance to keep this juggernaut rolling. The fifth ODI of the series is yet to be played and he can make that chance count.

Interestingly, if he gets to a century in the Wellington ODI he will surpass former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly in the elusive list of most ODI hundreds for India. Both Ganguly and Rohit are sitting together with 22 centuries apiece but another hundred will help him to make number three position his own. Needless to say, Sachin Tendulkar (49) and Virat Kohli (39) are the other Indian batsmen with more ODI tons than him.
