Rohit Sharma’s popularity continues to transcend cricket, with one of his die-hard fans undertaking an extraordinary journey to meet the former India captain. After completing the arduous journey, Rout’s efforts finally paid off as he got the opportunity to meet Rohit. The fan presented the veteran batter with idols of Radha-Krishna and Lord Jagannath, along with a photo frame featuring Rohit and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh.

Rohit appeared pleasantly surprised by the effort and asked photographers whether they knew where the fan had travelled from. After learning about his remarkable cycling journey, the former India captain reacted with disbelief, saying, “Baap re baap!”

Interestingly, another Rohit Sharma fan recently undertook a similar journey. Krishna Sharma travelled from Noida to Mumbai by bicycle to meet the 39-year-old batter. He eventually met Rohit on Sunday, August 16, and was seen touching the cricketer’s feet before interacting with him.

On the cricketing front, Rohit remains active in only one international format after retiring from Test and T20I cricket. His most recent international appearance came during India’s ODI series against England in July.

Rohit faced criticism after scoring 11 and 26 in the first two matches, but responded emphatically in the series decider. He smashed 138 off 110 balls at Lord’s to register his 34th ODI century and became the first Indian batter to score an ODI hundred at the iconic venue.

Despite Rohit’s brilliant individual performance, India lost the match by 27 runs, allowing England to claim the three-match series 2-1. Rohit’s next ODI assignment is expected to come against the West Indies in India. The three-match series is scheduled to begin on September 27 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, with fans likely to eagerly await another appearance from the veteran opener.
