India captain Rohit Sharma will return to action later this week when the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starts. Recently, both teams were involved in a three-match T20I series which India won by 3-0. However, Rohit Sharma has not played any game since leading India to glory in the T20 World Cup last month as well. Under his captaincy, India won the T20 World Cup after 17 years. The win also ended India’s 11-year wait for an ICC trophy as well. The Indian team beat South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling final to win the tournament.

Moreover, India also scripted history in the competition as they became the first-ever team to win the T20 World Cup without losing a single match as well. Rohit Sharma also led the team from the front and finished the tournament as India’s highest run-scorer. In the overall list, only Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored more runs than him as well. In 8 games, Rohit scored 257 runs with three fifties. And after the final against South Africa, the veteran batter also announced his retirement from the T20 format of the game.
However, before his return to action, Rohit Sharma made headlines and also has been trolled by several fans on social media for allegedly editing his photo. Time and again, he has been targeted by trolls for his physique and he has landed in a similar situation once again. Rohit Sharma recently posted a photo of himself from the training session on Instagram and the same photo was posted on social media by the BCCI as well. And few users were quick to see that Rohit edited the photo to hide his tummy as well.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will be looking to play again when he returns to ODIs this week. He has not played an ODI since the World Cup final in November last year. The upcoming series against Sri Lanka is also India’s first ODI assignment of the year as well.
