Mumbai Indians (MI) lost their second consecutive match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday after Jos Buttler’s heroic century with the bat. Suryakumar Yadav has been out of action for the Mumbai Indians due to a finger injury that he sustained earlier in the year which has become a concern for MI.
Mumbai Indians registered a loss by 23 runs against RR in their second match of IPL 2022. Jos Buttler was the star with the bat for Rajasthan Royals as he scored the first century of IPL 2022. Buttler raced away to his 100 in just 63 balls smashing the MI bowlers all around the park. MI will need to bounce back in the tournament or else they will be left behind in what can be very competitive towards the end of the league stage.
MI batter Suryakumar Yadav has been missing the action due to a finger injury which is another reason for Mumbai’s struggles this season. He is yet to attain complete recovery from his finger injury and skipper Rohit Sharma made it absolutely clear that he will play when he is fully fit.
During the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma said, “He is a key player for us. Once he gets fit, he comes in straight but we want him to recover since finger injuries are tricky”.
