Currently, the defending champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) are locking horns with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the tournament opener of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. MI skipper, Rohit Sharma, who is often been considered one of the greatest batsmen in the world. In the fourth over of the match, he hit the first six of the season off Yuzvendra Chahal but then was run out.
Rohit Sharma played a brilliant shot in the mid-on direction on the fourth ball of the fourth over of the innings and smashed the ball directly over the boundary. This was the first six of this season. However, he was run out on the last ball of this over and returned to the pavilion disappointed. Rohit had managed to score 19 runs in 15 balls with the help of a four and a six.

On the final ball of the fourth over of the first innings, Chris Lynn played the shot and Rohit raced to take a single. However, Lynn asked him to return from the halfway point, just taking advantage of this, the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli bowled the ball directly to Chahal at the non-striker end. Chahal dislodged the break without making any mistake. Rohit looked very disappointed with this. He was playing the 201st match of his IPL career.

The team led by Rohit Sharma has won a record five IPL titles as were the champions in the last two seasons, while Virat Kohli’s team RCB are in search of their first title. The 14th season of IPL is being played in the absence of an audience in view of increasing cases of coronavirus.

Both the teams had some debutant as Mia handed caps to Chris Lynn and Marco Jansen, while RCB witnessed the debuts of Harshal Patel, Glenn Maxwell, and Kyle Jamieson.
