The Reliance Foundation hosted a grand celebration titled ‘United in Triumph’ on Monday, January 5, in Mumbai, paying tribute to India’s World Cup heroes for their landmark achievements on the global stage. The star-studded evening brought together three World Cup-winning captains — Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Deepika T.C. — who shared the stage with Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, in a moment that symbolised unity, excellence, and national pride.

Rohit Sharma, India’s T20 World Cup-winning captain and a five-time IPL champion with Mumbai Indians, attended the event alongside his wife Ritika Sajdeh. The ceremony was further elevated by the presence of some of Indian cricket’s most celebrated names, including Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah Rodrigues, reflecting the depth and legacy of Indian cricket across generations.
The evening was dedicated to honouring three Indian teams that delivered unforgettable World Cup moments — the men’s team, the women’s team, and the Indian blind cricket team. Addressing the gathering, Nita Ambani expressed heartfelt gratitude to the players for bringing joy and inspiration to millions across the country.

“All three cricket teams — the men’s team, the women’s team, and the blind cricket team — are here under one roof. On behalf of every Indian, we honour them tonight for the happiness they have given the nation,” she said, as quoted by Mint.

The Indian blind women’s cricket team etched history by winning their maiden T20 World Cup in November 2025. Led by Deepika T.C., the side remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and clinched the title with a dominant seven-wicket win over Nepal in the final in Colombo.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s India women’s team also scripted history by lifting their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup in 2025, defeating South Africa in a memorable final.
Earlier, in 2024, Rohit Sharma led India to T20 World Cup glory, ending a 17-year title drought. Virat Kohli starred in the final to earn Player of the Match honours, while Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Series, capping off a golden era for Indian cricket.
