Indian cricket veteran Rohit Sharma recently participated in the newly introduced bronco test, and the results have now made headlines. The 38-year-old underwent the rigorous fitness assessment, implemented by the BCCI earlier this month, and his performance quickly became a major talking point among fans and experts alike.

Not only did Rohit pass the test, but he reportedly impressed observers with his overall fitness and stamina. The assessment also included the familiar Yo-Yo test, a benchmark widely used to gauge the endurance and agility of Indian cricketers. According to RevSportz Global, all players who participated in the fitness evaluations on August 30 and 31 successfully passed the tests.
Reports highlighted Rohit’s exceptional physical condition at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where his appearance and performance drew praise from coaches and teammates. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna also garnered attention for posting impressive numbers in the assessments.

The veteran opener has already retired from T20Is and Tests, stepping away from the shortest format after leading India to the T20 World Cup title in June 2024. His Test farewell, however, was less memorable, following a challenging run in the 2024–25 Test series in Australia. Just before India’s home series against England, Rohit decided to end his red-ball career.

As things stand, Rohit now focuses solely on ODIs while also representing the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 season. With questions surrounding his long-term future, his strong results in the recent fitness tests provide a timely boost for both the player and team management, reaffirming that he remains a key contributor for India in white-ball cricket.
