India found themselves in a precarious position at 22/4 during the third T20I against Afghanistan at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Fareed Ahmad’s three-wicket burst had rattled the top order, but a stunning turnaround was orchestrated by Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh.
The duo forged an exceptional 190-run partnership for the fifth wicket, guiding the Men in Blue to a commanding total of 212 runs. Rohit Sharma showcased his class with a ruthless unbeaten knock of 121 runs off just 69 deliveries. Complementing him, Rinku Singh played a vital role, contributing an unbeaten 69 runs off 39 balls.
Despite the early setbacks, the duo maintained intent and composure, steering India to a formidable total. In praise of Rinku Singh’s performance, Rohit Sharma highlighted the youngster’s calm demeanour on the pitch and emphasized his understanding of strengths.

Rohit Sharma expressed the importance of maintaining intent in high-pressure situations, and Rinku exemplified this trait effectively. The India skipper noted that Rinku’s contributions in previous series and IPL performances demonstrated his potential, and he has successfully translated that into the national colors.
As per the quotes in NDTV, Rohit Sharma said, “Creating the partnership was important and we (Rinku and I) kept talking to each other to not lose that intent in big games and it was a good game for us to be in, the pressure was there and was important to bat long and deep and not compromise on the intent we want to show. The last couple of series that he played, he showed what he can do with the bat.”

“Very calm and knows his strength pretty well. He is coming of age and doing what is expected of him and he has done well for India. It augurs well for the team moving forward, wanted someone like that at the backend and we know what he has done in the IPL and he has carried that to the Indian colours as well,” he added.
The thrilling encounter saw Afghanistan matching India’s 212 runs, leading to a Super Over. The first Super Over concluded with both teams level, but India secured a comfortable win in the second, sealing the T20I series 3-0.
